David Francey
"Francey has made a reputation for himself as one of Canada's most revered folk poets and singers… [His songs] are small and beautifully crafted pieces of work that have made Francey both a folk festival favourite and something of a latter-day Canadian poet laureate."

Michael Gellings
Michael Gellings first established himself in the Madison music scene as the front man for Lost Between, a 2004 Battle of the Bands runner-up, and has now proven himself as an up-and-coming solo artist. The 24 year-old's debut solo album "Blue Owl", released in July 2006, culminates a two-year relentless pursuit of honest songwriting, delivered with high energy. The album, which exceeds an hour in length, was written, performed, recorded, engineered, mixed, mastered, and produced by Gellings. As a result of his musical versatility, Michael played every instrument on all 12 tracks. His live performances feature acoustic guitar and harmonica, combined with dark, rustic vocals. The result is a rooted-down sound that will resonate deep within the listener's soul, and then carry them into a hypnotic instrumental frenzy

Mighty Short Bus
The Mighty Short Bus has been compared to southern rock bands such as The Black Crowes and Lynard Skynard, but that is only half of their sound…maybe less. The music goes a step further, infusing their would-be southern rock sound with the cold truth of a winter’s day, giving them a true Midwest Rock sound.

SP1
As with all bands, this side project grew out of a basement, and has been an evolution. It's a combination of two Wicked Lily girls, two Lube guys, and one former WL girl, and they rock hard! They were all having so much fun jamming together, they decided to learn some tunes specifically for this project, hence SP1 began.

The Reverend Eddie Danger
Described as “Cosmic Folk with a Tribal Twist of Jazz” or simply “Feel Good Music”. A One-Man Band playing over 25 instruments. The lyrics are word heavy stories with an underlying message usually about political or environmental justice, Metaphysical epiphanies or frustrations and blowing off the suburban teen angst, bad love, & trashy rap star negative vibe mentality saturating today’s music. “I have bad days like anyone else. I just make a conscious effort in my songwriting to focus on the positive. Even my sad songs tend to see the light through the clouds”. –Ed Danger

Unstrung Heros

Whitney Mann and The Boys
Backed by her talented band ‘the boys’, a Whitney Mann show is can’t miss. Every song is sung and strummed with a type of intensity only found under florescent lights (‘damn near blinding’). With her cool blend of alt-country and folk, Whitney Mann’s rockin’ jams are as sweet as her ballads: wide-eyed, intense, seductive. Her songs ache like her broken heart. They will ache like yours when she’s through. Veiled beneath her whiskey-tinged voice and stream-lined lyrics exist the lives of farmhands, wayward criminals, sluts. Concealed beneath them are the stories of her life. And beneath them even further; beneath the pound of the bass drum and the slide of the guitar, beneath the walking bass line and the echo of reverberating claps, exists Whitney Mann’s philosophy on life. If you listen closely you can hear it.
